We are holding a Fly-in on Saturday 4th August at Fenland airfield. All Welcome, fly or drive in. No landing fees for LAA aircraft.

Welcome to the online home of the Fenland LAA Strut

Fenland Strut is the local branch of the Light Aircraft Association covering the whole of the fens.

The LAA is an organization that supports affordable recreational flying through supporting the homebuilding and self-maintenance of light aircraft. Local branches known as ‘struts’ give you the opportunity to meet friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic people. You can also become involved, practically or socially to help promote light aviation in your area

Strut Meetings

Gardan Minicab, A Classic LAA aircraftFenland Strut meets once a month. In the winter months the meeting takes place at Fenland Aero Club, where an informal talk is given by one of our members. In the summer we make use of longer daylight hours and have summer evening fly-outs and the strut’s annual fly-in. Flying in the Fens

This website is for strut members and all local pilots and aviation enthusiasts. It is also for anyone in the fenland area who has ever dreamed of getting their pilot’s license. There are links to local flying schools, and while there is no getting away from the the fact that training cost will be high, with a microlight NPPL costing from £3000+ and a JAR PPL costing from £6000+, once you have the license flying is as expensive or affordable as you make it. Shared ownership is a popular option for many to keep the cost of owning an aircraft down, joining the strut is an excellent to find out more about all aspects of owning an aircraft.
